After a long and stressful few months, our family is almost home! This goal of homeownership has been a long time coming for myself. It took several years after my divorce to rebuild my credit to the point where I could obtain credit on my own without a co-signer or being only an authorized user on the husband’s credit card. But after all the hard work and dedication to fixing my credit, it feels amazing to be able to say I am a homeowner! I was hoping to purchase a home by my 30th birthday, but that didn’t workout the way we had planned. Just over a year after my 30th birthday did I actually achieve my goal.
Our house is being painted tonight & tomorrow. On Wednesday and Thursday, our basement flooring is going to be laid. Then we have some small things to have done like ceiling fans and toilets being replaced, as well as the dishwasher, the microwave and a few little other plumbing problems, oh and a door being replaced.
We’re almost home. We’re almost in our first home!!!
I know I said I wasn’t going to post until after we got settled in the house, but I wanted to give a quick update. Our cable is already installed, our electricity is obviously on, we’re just waiting on the handyman to finish up the projects that we’ve tasked him with. There was a really long list, as I left a few things out. But eventually, they’ll all be finished. Gotta do a few things at a time. Mostly because moving day is in just a few short days.
Well I’m off to run some last minute errands. Need to pick up 1/4″ round shoe molding for the basement and a few other things. Then I have to be over at the house to talk to Culligan about our water treatment system that was installed in the home before we purchased it. I’d like to know what everything is and inquire about changing a few things to make our drinking water better.
Well I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Ours is going to be a little on the stressful side with the move, but hopefully we’ll be able to get into a good routine once we’ve moved into the house.
