Date Night Edition! (video embedded at the end)

Kevin & I went out on Saturday night… without the kids. We went bowling and had a good time. Minus the fact that Kevin beat me 4 times and I only beat him once! UGH! He’s had way more time to go bowling than I have. He perfected his bowling skills while he was in the Marines and stationed in Japan.

None the less, we had about 2 1/2-3 hours of no kids whining or crying, which in itself was nice. We don’t get a lot of free time, so we do our best to enjoy what little time we get without kiddos.

We decided to record our date night and then on Sunday while running a few errands we recorded our conversation about Marraige/Relationships. What we think peoples biggest problems are and what our biggest problem is in our marriage/relationship.

I think I’m going to record another Victoria Vlog to upload this week, so I can discuss some things that have been bothering me lately.

Well here’s the video guys! I hope you enjoy mine and Kevin’s quirkiness in the convo video (this is how we are all the time).

Please subscribe to our YouTube Channel, as we upload once a week at the moment on Wednesday’s! Sometimes I upload another vlog during the rest of the week/weekend. But Wednesday’s are the normal day for us to put up a new video.

Thanks for Watching!

KitchenAid Classic Plus Stand Mixer

I wanted to start a monthly blog post that is dedicated to my favorite kitchen gadgets/appliances.

My most prized kitchen appliance would be the KitchenAid Classic Plus Stand Mixer. You’re probably wondering how I learned about this appliance. Well I grew up with a stay-at-home mother, who cooked all of our meals. My mom was an avid baker (red velvet cakes, homemade cupcakes for birthday parties at school, etc). When my parents got married ago almost 39 years ago, my mom was given a KitchenAid Classic Stand Mixer (back then it wasn’t a Plus model) as a wedding gift. So a lot of my fond childhood memories revolve around this classic white stand mixer.
When I became old enough to use this mixer, I fell in love with the amount of accessories that you can get for it (ice cream bowl, glass bowl, meat grinder/sausage filler, pasta maker, dough hook, whisk, paddle blade, etc). In my pre-teen years all the way up to my mid-20’s, I’d use that mixer as much as I could.
During my 1st marriage, I dreamed of owning such nice kitchen gadgets, but it just wasn’t in our budget. It wasn’t until mine and Kevin’s 2nd wedding anniversary in 2013 that I got my own KitchenAid Classic Plus Stand Mixer. When we bought it, it was on sale at Kohl’s, there was a $75 mail-in rebate, AND there was Kohl’s cash. So all in all we spent about $125 (if I recall correctly) and earned $20 Kohl’s cash. It was an amazing deal.
Right now, my little kitchen baby is sitting in a storage unit waiting for me to return. Waiting for our family to find a home that we can call our own, even if it’s only a temporary place to call home.
The KitchenAid Classic Plus was made to last. Take my mom’s for example… it’s over 30 years old (that’s how old I am) and it still runs like a champ.
So my favorite thing to use my KitchenAid Classic Plus stand mixer for is… Mashed Potatoes! Yes, Mashed Potatoes!
Once I’ve cooked my potatoes, I strain them, toss them in the mixer and use the whisk attachment to “mash” the potato chunks. I’ll scrape down the sides of the bowl a few times just to make sure I mashed all the potato chunks. When I’ve gotten all the chunks out, I toss in a whole stick of butter, and a splash or two of milk… and whip them until they’re smooth!
They come out perfect almost every single time.
My kids beg me to make mashed potatoes almost daily, they just love mashed potatoes (and so do I)!
