5 Years

On February 14th, Kevin and I celebrate the day he came into my life. This year it marks 5 years. The last 5 years have come and gone so quickly. It seems like only yesterday was the first time I kissed the man of my dreams. Actually, I kissed him for the first time 5 years ago today! We’re also coming up on our 5 year wedding anniversary in April.

It truly is so hard to believe that we’ve been pretty much inseparable for the last 5 years. It wasn’t until he got his new job that we’ve really been apart.

For “Valentine’s Day” Kevin was able to come home to celebrate our “anniversary. He took me shopping at Ulta and gave me an unlimited budget. But with me being me, I’d rather get out of the debt we’re in so I ended up spending around $225. I got a few “high end” and “drugstore” items. I probably would have spent more, if we had paid off all of our credit cards. But 4 accounts are still waiting for their final payments. We’ve got to be responsible with our finances if we plan on getting a home this summer. We’re about 5 months from achieving our goal. We have a house we really like via the pictures and the size of the house. But we’re waiting until we’ve paid off all the credit cards and the loan we have with our credit union.

Every spare dollar we aren’t used to having is put towards our debts and/or into our savings account. All his overtime and double time pay goes towards paying down our bills. So right now, we’re seeing a lot of bills get paid off in a payment or two. He’s working hard and getting as many hours as he can. I’m really hoping that in the next 3 to 6 months, he’ll level up to a Tier 3 employee which means a $4 increase in his hourly pay! Which will be awesome.

How do I always manage to end up off on a side tangent? Ha.

So here’s to a smooth week while Kevin is traveling back to the East Coast. I can’t wait until our family is reunited for good this summer. I really miss having my best friend by my side.

We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
