90 Day Fitness Challenge

I know I haven’t posted in a while… so I figured, I’d post about my 90 Day Fitness Challenge. I start tomorrow September 1st. My goal is to eat healthy, drink more water (only 1 soda a day until I can kick the habit) and work out for 90 days! I’m doing this in hopes that I’ll be able to make working out and eating healthy on a consistent basis after the 90 days. Have you recently taken part in a 90 Day Fitness Challenge? Know someone who has? Please give me hope and motivation that I can make it to the end of my 90 Day fitness challenge.

I made a weight loss board out of a 24×30 poster frame and charts/calendars that I created on my computer. I then put all the sheets of paper in the poster frame and wrote on it with dry erase markers. That way once I complete my 90 day challenge, I can continue to use the board without taking any of the pages out. I bought a second frame that is a different size, that I plan on using for motivational pictures/Quotes that I’m working on having printed. Hopefully I’ll have them printed in the next two weeks. Once I do, I may post a video or photos of my Weight Loss Board.

In case you were wondering what’s on my Weight Loss Board… Well I’ll be happy to tell you.

I have a chart that has my current weight and my goal weight with every single pound listed in between there. Every 10th lb down from my current weight is BOLD, so I can easily say… I’ve lost XX lbs without really having to think to much about it.

I have a reward chart… for every XX lbs I can buy something new or treat myself to something (manicure/pedicure, new makeup, new workout shoes, etc) with the final goal being a whole new wardrobe (meaning 7 to 10 pairs of pants, 7 to 10 shirts, 7 to 10 bras/underwear, 5 pairs of shorts, a few sweaters/sweatshirts, and some pajamas). I can’t wait to wear blue jeans where I feel confident and sexy in them! I may be a mom of 5 kids, but I should be able to feel sexy. That’s my right as a woman!

Then I have three calendars set up for the next 90 days. On each day, I have a workout planned out for 90 days (already). I know if I pre-plan things are more likely to happen, so I sat down over the weekend and just wrote it all out.

Then I have one chart that has all my measurements for each body part (neck, left arm, right arm, chest, waist, hips, butt, left thigh, right thigh, left calf, right calf), since I hope to keep this up after the initial 90 days… I actually made the chart to track my measurements until July 1, 2016.

The last calendar I have in it is because I’m planning on using the last of my It Works! Ultimate Body Applicator Wraps from when I was a distributor. Tuesdays are weigh-in days (mostly because I’m starting on a Tuesday and ending my 90 Day Challenge on Tuesday December 1), so I planned wrapping days to be on Wednesdays. I guess I picked Wednesday’s because Thursdays are busy days, every other Friday is date night with Kevin, and Saturday’s we run errands as a family, Sunday’s are when we clean up after each week (the kids clean their rooms, we clean ours, and then we clean up our trucks). Monday’s we’re just getting in the groove for a good week. So since everything else was already taken… it just became easy to pick Wednesday.  So I’ll be wrapping every Wednesday until I run out of wraps. If anyone is interested in getting their hands on some, here is my favorite distributor (Janelle).

So you’re probably wondering what I’m doing for workouts!
I’m an obsessive Amazon shopper (I buy almost all the kids Christmas gifts on Amazon since 2010)… so I hopped on Amazon and found some Jillian Michael’s DVD’s that got good reviews. She’s kind of known for her 30 day DVD’s… so here are the 3 I purchased. I plan on alternating them daily. So one day I’ll do 30 day shred, then shred it with weights, and then ripped in 30. Then the next month, I change the days I do the workouts, so my body isn’t getting completely used to the workout schedule. I’ll do this until my 90 days is up!

I grabbed a few hand weights, a medicine ball, a workout mat, resistance bands, a speed rope and a few other things. Plus I purchased a new Polar Fitness Watch since my original one is stuck in a storage unit in Maryland. So I ended up with the Polar FT80.

I finally convinced Kevin to purchase a Double Jogging Stroller. I plan on taking it out for a walk every single day with Zachary and Ryleigh after lunch.
Depending upon weather and temperature, of course.

While I have a specific weight loss goal, I’m not going to list it on here. I want to be realistic in my goals, so I’m trying to not focus on the weight on the scale. But more on how my clothes fit and by my body’s response to the loss of whatever weight I lose.

I purposely stopped buying junk food (no more Oreo’s, Twinkies, etc), I bought twice the amount of fruit I’ve been buying every week, some goes in the kids lunches… I eat the rest. I didn’t buy anymore soda when I went shopping this past weekend, because I know that if I buy it I’ll end up drinking it. So I just plan on finishing up the soda I have in the house (1 soda at a time, limit of 1 per day), my goal is to kick the soda habit all together.

I really hope that I can keep up this 90 day challenge. I’ve always quit, never started, or just can’t reign in my eating and soda drinking habits. So my husband is supposed to help keep me motivated and working towards my goals. Rumor has it that he thinks it would be nice to take me on a trip the the Caribbean for our 5 year anniversary in April of 2016. But I’m not sure how I feel leaving my babies for a trip like that. Plus, I’m not sure I’ll be at my ultimate goal by the time we celebrate our anniversary. Hell our anniversary is only 215 days away. So we’ll have to see. It would honestly dependent upon a few factors (childcare for 5 kids, my weight loss goals, finances, etc).  So we’ll see. But it’s a nice thing to think about being a reward for reaching my ultimate fitness goal.

I look forward to doing update blogs about my weight loss, maybe I’ll post my before photos the progress of each month. But we’ll see when I get through my 1st 30 days.

In case you were wondering, I’m excited about my 90 Day Fitness Challenge, but at the same time I’m terrified that I’m going to fail at reaching any of my goals during this challenge. So please leave me some love.

Well I’m off to fix myself a healthy breakfast. If you’re on a weight loss/fitness journey, please leave a comment below. I’d love to make friends with others who are in the same boat as I am in. Again, Please join me on my 90 Day Fitness Challenge! We can be each others support and motivation to keep on working out and eating healthy for the next 90 days!
